Will the motor fit in my front forks?

Standard width of front forks is 100mm but there are some issues with forks and some motors. If your forks are not good enough for a conversion kit you can either do a rear wheel conversion as most people do or change your forks. They really are not that expensive to replace. It is also recommended to use torque arms with front forks to ensure the motor does not spinout in the dropouts. Please scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.

The best forks are shaped like this.

Full suspension same width top to bottom and dropouts are near the inside of the forks. Forks like this will work with any motor we have.

    Problem forks are like this

with the dropout not on the inside of the forks. These will most likely rub on any motor we have.

    NOT GOOD

    Or this

Tapered in as they go higher. These will not work with the Magic Pie, Smart pie or 901 motors. They may work with the 902 motors. Sometimes you can still use these forks if they are steel by adding washers if the motor rubs. But be careful not to bend the forks to much. If your forks are aluminum be very careful.

    Or this

To thin for a strong motor. These are not a good idea.
