How to maintain the battery?
The battery should be stored in clean, dry, ventilated, dark environment. When unused, keep it at half charge and recharge it every 3 to 6 months.
How to prolong your lithium ion battery?
Recharge your batteries before they are completely dead.
After every 30 charges, allow your lithium based battery to completely discharge before recharging.

I built this Fatbike from a Schwinn Biggity I picked up on sale for 350 dollars. Added a Magic Pie 5 and Panasonic Battery. This bike is awesome. The most surprising thing is if my son is riding it I can’t keep up with him on the trails on my 29er full suspension bike. A zero suspension fat bike rides smoother than a full suspension mountain bike. I would have never guessed that!

I upgraded my wifes Babboe Big to Electric with a Magic Pie 5 and a 48v13AH lithium Ion 18650 battery. The rear wheel had a Nexus 7 speed internal hub. We thought we would miss this hub but would add a 7 speed freewheel and derailleur to replace it. After adding just the freewheel and selecting a mid range gear to run the chain on in it is now a one speed and works great. No need for multiple gears. One speed and a Magic Pie 5 works perfect and we love it! – Gary Salo – June 18 2018

It’s a powerful battery and with a moderate amount of pedalling I can make it last for 80 or more Kms. The only disappointment is the key. It is only used to lock the battery in place on the rails. This means that there is no way to lock out the power when you park. Most electric bikes are set up so that the battery is turned on/off with the key so that the battery does not power the bike while it’s parked.
