Bafang BBSHD. Installed on Norco Sasquatch fat bike. The mid mount 1000w motor is an excellent selection for the fat bike. At 65 years the fat bike is a struggle to peddle. With the 1000w motor I can climb any hill and keep going all day without breaking a sweat. Installation was not overly difficult. The main issue with installation of a mid mount is your chain line. If you view your chain from directly behind the bike you may find the chain is not straight. Try it with all combinations of front and rear gears. Before I installed the motor the most obvious sign of chainline problem is with the large front chainring to the largest rear sprocket. When the motor installed you may find the secondary gear housing touches your right chainstay and does not allow the motor to be completely inserted. Obtain a bag of headset/bottom bracket spacers. Mine were aluminum 2mm thick. Depending on the shape of the chainstay you will need to add some of the spacers to stop the motor from touching the chainstay. When you install the chainring on the motor the chainring may also touch the chainstay. This will require more spacers. I anticipated this problem and ordered the 120mm motor kit even though I had a 100mm bottom bracket. This meant I would need 20 mm of spacers. Some on the right to correct the problem with touching the chainstay and the remainder on the left so that the locking ring would not run out of threads before the motor was tight enough to hold it in place. Originally I installed the chainring supplied with the kit. It worked fine for me but I had read that a chainring with alternating wide and narrow teeth was better so I added the Luna in the pictures. The Luna had more offset in it so I had to rearrange my spacers. Before the motor install the large chainring was 7/8 inch out from the bottom bracket frame. With the motor and either the supplied chainring or the Luna chainring the chainring is 3/4 inch out from the bottom bracket frame. So I actually improved the chainline with the motor install. I have had no shifting or other problems with the chain (9 speed cassette). I installed the shift sensor to take the strain off the drivetrain when shifting. The Norco has hydraulic brakes so I did not install the brake levers. It works fine. My largest chainring was 32 teeth and the Luna is 42 so I had to lengthen the chain 10 links. Original chain was 110 links. Standard chain is 116. Bought a special chain made for mid mounts (136 links). Shortened it to 120 link and used the leftover with a couple of missing links to make my original chain 120. Everything works and I love it.
