I made a 5 kilowatt trike. It has a rear differential and is powered by Dewalt batteries. I got the 48 volt brushless DC motor from Golden Motor in Canada. It is rated up to 10 horsepower, and it can produce over 30 foot pounds of torque. They sell a liquid cooled motor, but I opted for the simpler fan cooling version. The sine wave controller sits on a massive heat sink and has a bunch of neat system protections. I estimate the range to be at least 20 miles, but I’ve never completely drained the batteries. The trike weighs 185 lbs with a full battery box and no rider. Unfortunately it does not wheelie or do burnouts, but it is quiet and fast.

Hi all, I built a 1959 Montgomery Wards scooter into a 5000 watt edrive scooter . Not much to it a little experience with fabrication helps , soo keep building and all is coming.

Very well protected.I’ll know more in 2 months when I use it in real world.
