BLDC 650 Watt Motor

The BLT-650 is a 650W, 48V brushless motor from Golden Motor's BLT series of medium-speed, high-torque motors built for electric tricycles. It's the torque pick of the series, with the highest torque in factory testing, made for adult drift trikes, cargo trikes and hill climbing.

48V Bench Test Results

From the factory test data (linked below), at 48V the BLT-650 spins 1,172 rpm with no load. Peak efficiency of 86.7% comes at 1,054 rpm and 4.52 N·m (499W output). Its maximum output was 953W at 864 rpm and 10.53 N·m, drawing 24.5A.

Choosing a Controller

Use a 3-phase BLDC controller that matches your battery voltage. The Golden Motor 2000W BLDC Controller runs on 24V to 60V and is PC programmable, so you can set the current limit to suit this motor. The 500W BLT-500 is the step down and the 800W BLT-800 is the step up.
