BLDC 500 Watt Motor

The BLT-500 is a 500W, 48V brushless motor from Golden Motor's BLT series of medium-speed, high-torque motors built for electric tricycles. It's the lightest of the three, a good fit for light e-trikes, smaller drift trikes and utility carts.

48V Bench Test Results

From the factory test data (linked below), at 48V the BLT-500 spins 1,176 rpm with no load. Peak efficiency of 84.2% comes at 1,032 rpm and 4.32 N·m (467W output). Its maximum output was 786W at 917 rpm and 8.18 N·m, drawing 20.4A.

Choosing a Controller

Use a 3-phase BLDC controller that matches your battery voltage. The Golden Motor 2000W BLDC Controller runs on 24V to 60V and is PC programmable, so you can set the current limit to suit this motor. The 650W BLT-650 is the step up.
