36v 12ah LiFePO4 Aluminum Cased Battery

I've chosen for the LifePO4 battery for the smart pie, because of it longer lifespan and more recharge cycles. I take the disadvantage that a LifePO4 battery is a bit heavier but compared to the driver weight, the weight difference doesn't make much difference. I did 1 full charge and a test run for about 40 minutes and the battery needed only 30 minutes charging time to have a complete charge again on the standard charger (2 A charger).

Mounted battery to my Burley CoHo trailer today, will wait for warmer weather to fully charge and test.

Love my Magic Pie Edge (26 inch)! So much nice torque power. I chose the front hub as I didn't want to mess with the back wheel hassles with the cassette matching and having the weight at the front does balance out the battery. I can see that if you were heavily into offroad mountain biking this wouldn't be the choice due to the wheel spinning on upslopes but I am still doing a lot of trails within the city and learning how to work the throttle just right to attack any terrain. Thumb throttle seems like a very good choice and totally love the cruise control button. Setting acceleration at 50 and regen braking at 25 works well. Paul O - May 28, 2018
