48v 10ah LiFePO4 Aluminum Cased Battery

.....My Golden Motor 48 v battery is so old ...it's grey....aluminum color...not black. Close to ten years old now. Recharged countless times with ZERO ISSUES. It's just now showing signs of having noticeably less capacity. I estimate it cost less than $1 per ride....what a deal! Of course there are cheaper options straight outta Chi-na.......but will it function properly?....or live up the promised numbers?....will it unleash the molten heat of the sun one night and burn your house down? I'd rater pay a bit more for an approved battery and access to a guy in Canada who stands behind his products.

I received the battery and charged it as the manual specified. Once charged I installed it on my mobility scooter, turned the key and nothing happened. Turns out the battery's fuse had blown between golden motor storage and my door step. I replaced it with the spare provided and it worked for a short time. Since then I've gone through 8 fuses and have needed to push it home 8 times. When swapped out with another battery the scooter operates as it should.
Anybody else having this expensive headache?

My grandson and I had been training for about one month on ride in the Hotter Than Hell Hundred endurance ride in Wichita Falls, Texas. (it's are great event with about 12,000 riders each year). He had never ridden a bike before we started as they live in Brazil and there are security issues where they live. We were not sure of the range the Edge and the 10AH would have so we started with 20 miles and worked up to 55 miles. Then on the day of the ride we enjoyed a leisurely 50 mile ride in 4 hours and 17 minutes with 4 rest stops for water and refreshments. The Edge worked Great! Tom, in Texas - Oct 2 2018

I'm 65 years old and have a knee injury. The Golden Motor electric assist keeps me riding with my friends. I even did a century ride last year! I researched other electric assist systems and Golden Motors is the best! It's a little more difficult to install but well worth the effort. - Robert Z - July 26 2018

I built the Swiss Army Paratrooper e-bike with email help from Gary Salo. On non rainy days, I ride my Golden Motor e-bike to work (4) 4 mile trips a day. I have a rain coat at work that I have used several times to ride home in very heavy rain storms, no problem. The e-bike is very reliable and performs well, I can reach 30 MPH on flat paved highway.
