The 28T is the smallest Bafang chainring on the market, built for riders who want maximum low-end torque. If you like popping wheelies, crawling over rocks and roots, or pulling heavy loads up steep hills, this tiny ring makes the motor feel far stronger at low speed and reduces strain on it.

It's CNC machined from heat-treated 7075 T6 aluminum, weighing just 58g compared with a heavy steel stock ring. The narrow-wide teeth keep the chain locked on over rough terrain.

Before you buy: chain line

Because of how the BBS motor is shaped, any ring smaller than 40T has very little offset, so it pushes the chain line outward. On a derailleur bike that can affect shifting at the ends of the cassette. Lekkie generally suggests a 36T for internal-gear hubs and single-speed setups. If you want low gearing and a good chain line on a derailleur bike, look at the 40T BBS02 package.
