Product Description

The Bafang BBS02B mid-drive conversion kit (CAN Bus) is the newer-generation version of Bafang's best-selling mid-drive. It uses Bafang's CAN Bus protocol, which lets the motor, display and sensors communicate faster and more reliably, with clearer error reporting. Like every BBS02B, it drives through your bike's gears for strong hill climbing and efficient range. Choose from four power versions, from 350W up to 750W with 120 Nm of torque.

Approximate top speed: 20 to 28 mph (32 to 45 km/h) depending on version (see table below). Speeds are approximate on flat ground with a 26"-29" wheel and depend on battery, gearing, rider weight and terrain. You can also set a lower speed limit in the display.

Display required: choose your CAN Bus display when you order. The display is priced separately, which keeps the kit price lower and lets you pick the one you want. Need the kit without a display? Contact our sales team and we'll help you check out.

CAN Bus vs UART: Which Should You Choose?

  • CAN Bus is Bafang's current system, with faster, more stable communication and better diagnostics.
  • UART is the original protocol with the largest aftermarket of displays and DIY programming tools. See the BBS02B UART kit.

Important: CAN Bus and UART parts are not interchangeable. Displays, throttles and sensors must match your motor's protocol.

To change settings, use a Bafang CAN Bus USB programming cable. Our guides: How to Program Bafang CAN Bus and CAN Bus programming without the BESST tool.
